I confirmed it with the clerk handing out onstar mirror brochures this weekend that the she has no idea what phones do what and that all she was there to do was hand out info. So it is definitely not coming out today because it's 7:51 EST.

In all honesty the local store did say they would call me when they get them in stock so ya never know.

Also confirmed by the BB employees is that the next iphone will be #5.

Any phone sold by Best Buy today was sold out of negligence...not in knowing violation of VZW's requests. I think that's the easiest way to wrap up the story. They eventually caught on and stopped selling them. Big congrats to whoever managed to grab one...enjoy it and don't torture the rest of us for the next 4 days!

Agreed also. I strongly think this will more or less PRESSURE Verizon into releasing the phone now that quite a few are in consumer's hands.

So I went to Bestbuy this morning around 0930. I got there and spoke to the sales people and they all seemed to agree that the phone would be able to be sold today.

So I left and went to work. while on my way to work I called my wife and asked her to go to Bestbuy and set up a new line on the account. Long story short, she went, got a new line and got the phone activated. She called and told me the same news as everyone else has heard, "wont ring up in the system". I kinda new this was going to happen.

So after work I go to Bestbuy and ask to play with the phone. The sales people were fine with me playing with it due to it is on our account and active. No one removed it. I am ok with that too..... What I'm not ok with, is after playing with it in the store for over an hour I have to go back to using a HTC Inspire 4G. It's completely unfair. In comparison this phone plainly sucks....... NOT HAPPY!!!!! But the phone is mine on release day, it's on my account and no one else can have it ;-)/

I have to say the OS on this phone is AMAZING!!!!! Apple has to be worried. I guess I'm kind of Android fan, but I can give credit where it's due. Apple deserves credit for making an OS that is polished and works as it's suppose to, but 4.0 is giving them a run for their money. The way I look at it is, Apple designs the OS, they MFG the hardware, bake it together and controls the ecosystem. Android, open sources the OS and let's MFG's build hardware they want to, and let's us have our way with it. Now with 4.0 (ICS), it's like the polish and smoothness of IOS, but the openness of Android. A win for us!!!!

uhh.. what do you think the gnex is going to do so magically different then ICS on your fascinate? besides face unlock I seriously would like to know what batch of features you think ICS on fascinate is missing..

and heck.. you would think since the gnex is a brand new phone.. it would be compatible with games like gta etc.. nope.. because they put crap hardware in the phone.

the phone is good.. and I am waiting for something better (trying atleast).. its all a matter of compulsiveness and patience.. as long as I can keep myself from buying the gnexus which isnt the easiest task.. and if I can have the patience to last a few more months without using my upgrade.. I will be left with a phone that will be easily twice as good as the gnexus.

Have you read any of the reviews? Google revamped all of its core apps and re did them to look and feel as a part of the OS. They unified everything so that it all looks like it belongs with phone. No more Google maps looking one way, contacts looking another way, google voice looking a third way. It all feels like it was designed to together. At least, this is what I have gathered from the hundreds of reviews out right now.

All you just did was prove you have only messed with Roms and not the real thing. Go play with a nexus for a day or two like the reviewers and then try to say you know better than them. even Engadget said this was a great phone.

It may not make it different but it surely will run better on the device it was designed around. Other than that I agree with you.
