Best Buy Price Match...

Last time... BB is giving me the $50 price match. I got the idea to ask after reading a couple of threads here so I thought I'd give back to the community. YMMV. If you don't ask, you definitely won't get it, right? I asked. I read all of their rules and regulations and did my homework before I asked. That worked for me. I ordered my phone online, so they already authorized my credit card. They advised that they are going to charge me $99 (had a $50 gift card already applied). Again, that was MY deal. Make yours what you will, just thought it would be helpful to know. For the guy who said their site shows $179, maybe that's for your area. For mine, it's $149. Screen shot should be attached.

I just checked the WalMart site and plugged in my zipcode.

It seems that the differential in pricing ($149 vs. $179) is based on the contract.

New contract: $149.00
Extension of your contract for 2 additional years: $179.00.

Screenshots are attached.

I am not doubting you...I am doubting my BB store. Thanks for posting this so at least I could give it a shot.

Any tips on who I should deal with? (I know you did yours over the phone/online and not in the store, but what would you do if you did yours in store?) Mobile department before I purchase the phone? Customer Service b4 I go up to the mobile department to pick up my phone? After the phone is purchased and it is activated and I get my gift card? Call before Friday and ask over the phone what they will do?

It doesn't hurt to try it in the store, but their rules say you have to call. On their price match page there's a number to call. Someone in the store just may do it for you; again, it doesn't hurt to try.

Has anyone gotten Sprint to match any other retailers prices? I'm wanting to get two EVO's this fri. so i was wondering if anyone's been able to get Sprint to match prices. If so i'll go with Sprint otherwise maybe going to my local BB or try ordering over the phone. The only hold back is i need to upgrade 2 weeks early on one line, the other line i want to buy out early. Maybe hard to do.

I found this on the Best Buy website
Best Buy Price Match Guarantee - Best Buy

How does your Price Match policy cover an item scheduled for delivery from BestBuy.com?

If the price of an item drops at any time before its scheduled delivery date, we will refund 100% of the difference, including tax. To receive the lower price, you must call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). Price matching cannot be processed in our stores or via e-mail. If you see a lower price at BestBuy.com or a Best Buy store near you, all conditions apply from our standard Price Guarantee.

That number is only for online orders not in store.

In store

How do I request a Price Match from a Best Buy retail store?

When making a purchase, or during the return and exchange period after your purchase from a Best Buy retail store, please talk to a Customer Specialist or go to the Customer Service desk for help with your Price Match request. Please bring proof of the lower price that is still in effect that you want the Best Buy retail store to price match.

So I guess Customer Service it is.

I pre-ordered in a BB store last Friday. I called a few minutes ago about price matching with Walmart and they said sure. Bring in the printed ad .. so guess it's not going to happen :( I checked here for the Walmart printed ads, but nothing about this phone, oh well.

Sprint will be selling the phone off contract for $549. BB is offering it off contract for a ridiculous $699. I'm currently in the process of getting them to sell it to me for $549 .... they must be calling around to the Sprint stores to verify. I'll update if I am successful or not on this pre-order.

Haha... screw Best Buy. Won't price match because they won't make any money off of it.

Anyone talk to a best buy about price matching Walmart or Sams club at 149 and still getting the pre order gift card also. bringing the price down to 99

Is any of this in lieu of the "Chose Phone Freedom" $50 gift card promotion BB ran back late January/early February?

-> leerage: Assuming you haven't upgraded in the last 8 months...
Ask Sprint about the Upgrade Now promotion. The most you'd pay is $365 + tax. ($200 phone + $165 to "Upgrade Now") Then if you went to Best Buy, you could get the walmart price match and $50 gift card if you preorder and more if you have an original Evo to trade in. So, in total you could be paying $265 or less if you last upgraded more than 8 months ago.

PS, according to their own posted Price Match policy, you should be able to get the $550 price match since it is in a local physical store and you would have an ad to prove it. If the store you went to won't ask for the manager or go to a different store. It's corporate policy they should be following.

Ok so I need to stop by a local walmart and pick up an ad. Online they have the Evo lte in there circular good til june 2 only problem is it doesn't list a price. right next to it is the htc one x for 158. Don't think best buy will go for it since it doesn't have a price listed but it's a start then maybe I could get them to call and verify the price? will it work that way?

here's a screen of the Ad I should be able to pick this exact one up in the store

Just print the online information where it shows the price and take that to them, they will call and verified.

Thanks for the info. I just said screw it all together... Got up this morning and made a few calls .. found me one at a local walmart. Took 20min in and out. Hands free activation at home. Everything is on and working as it should even data.. I'm happy!

My local BB doesn't even want to use the $50 GC towards the purchase, so i doubt they would do a price match. It's worth a try.

I bought the phone at BB and got the phone freedom and another $50 off because of some deal if you upgrade to an LTE and activate by Jul 1 you get the $50. So I paid $100 then I found out Wal-Mart had it for $149 so I went back for a price match and they just called the local Walmart to confirm since it's a regular price and not a sale ad and gave me another $50 back. They did have to find a Wal-Mart that sells Sprint as there are several in my area. Apparently different Wal-Marts sell differnt carriers.

What was the $50 credit for? Was it the GC or credit? My BB doesn't want to apply the GC towards the purchase. BB Mobile says they can. So i'll go back today to verify.

That is what I'm going to try. I'm not going to ask for them to price match there while doing all the gift cards and etc. but just going to go back in a week or two and show them my receipt that the price was 199 and Walmart has it for 150. Hopefully I can get an extra 50 off
