best buy sold out already?

So yesterday and this morning I decided to check Best Buy just to see if any of the stores sold out of them and behold only ONE store within 100 miles of me has it in stock. That is odd because of the dozen stores all of them had it as of Friday night including my store. When I called Friday afternoon to double check they had it in stock the person on the phone said they had plenty of them in stock. I just find it out that all of the stores would sell out of them like that unless they only got a couple of them for each store.

All the stores now say "available Oct 14th" now. I'm wondering did the stores yank them to wait to sell the white version and classic at the same time maybe? I just find it odd that over a dozen store everyone would be out including mine which is in an area where it's a lot of older people who usually are not very techy. Either way I'm glad I went Fri night and got mine.

When I was in Best Buy on Friday I was looking for the Classic. The Samsung Rep checked every store in the area and said no store had a classic and each store only had 5 (all gray/black) I figured all the stores would be out by the end of the day.

Strange I checked my hometown of St. Louis and most of the stores in the area has the watches still and it's a bigger area than here in SW FL. Maybe they got more of them shipped. The stores that don't have them up there and here in FL says Oct14th. Maybe they're just not shipping a lot to their stores until they see how the sales go.

I notice in general it's pretty hit or miss in the stores with smartwatches on what each store carries. Motorola and Huawei they carry a limited stock at each store as well it seems. It's not like the Galaxy S6 or Iphones that they get a ton in because the demand is high for them.

Best buy website shows it "coming soon". Can't even pre order it.

I scooped mine up on Friday morning, and later in the afternoon they were out of stock,they probably just received very few units.

It wouldn't shock me if each store only got 6 of them. And who knows store employees might have bought them too. I know they get discounts not sure what their discount is on Samsung products. My Best Buy store they have a Motorola second generation display and they have the actual watches sitting out and only had 4 of the mens and womens model they carry in stock unless they had more in back. I know when my dad bought his first generation gear none of the tmobile stores even carried it in stock and was order only. These watches are still a niche item so overhead cost are a factor in stocking them. To be honest I don't even see very many people wearing smart watches unless it's the apple watch and even then I only see a few people wearing them. I work and come into interaction with a lot of people. At least in my town I have not seen anyone wearing a smartwatch except for a couple apple ones.

Yeah that's true, I have never liked wearing watches, but I had been looking into getting a smartwatch so I can track my bicycle rides, and be able to to control music from my watch, and so far I'm liking it,but I do catch myself thinking if the 279 I spent on the Gear S2 really worth it.

Yesterday evening the check stores option for Austin TX had the dark gray in all our local stores as "available today". Just checked now, and it's as if it doesn't exist. Either bb website is yanky, or all stock has sold out.

Looks like all gone in Houston, except Baytown (hour outside of Houston). The store I bought my two at only received 5 of them, so I assume they are sold out, not removed.

Sounds about right. Stores only getting a few of them. Smartwatches are something they don't keep plenty in stock except the apple watch maybe.
