I see best buy has a guaranteed trade in of $200 for any smartphone in working condition (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/clp/lg-v20-offer/pcmcat1475602697895.c?id=pcmcat1475602697895) and have a couple questions (getting conflicting info from them).

Will that still count towards a Verizon DPP or is that only when buying the phone outright?

would a Samsung J1 qualify?

That's the part that's ticking me off. I called best buy corporate and they said it's ANY working smart phone (as in, it has some type of app store). The local store said no pre paid phones and the phone has to have some value in their system or it doesn't qualify. Corporate says that isn't true.

I just asked this on their Facebook page and it is apparently any working smart phone that powers up and doesn't have a cracked screen. No mention on prepaid phones.

Must be a local BB thing, since no issues here in Kentucky with S4, N4, N7 (twice). Would have got my MXPE from them too, but was only Moto direct at launch.

Taking my G1 there today FTW! Go to BB a lot, so $200 is a true net reduction for me.

best bet would be to walk on past BB door and into the carrier itself no matter the promotions. If issues arise large or small your in for a long unhappy ride with BB.

I was thinking that too. I have read the horror stories about people waiting 5+ hours trying to deal with their Note 7 at BB. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind buying the V20 at BB outright for $500 (roughly) and saving my Verizon upgrade for the S8 / N8.

No. You can choose upgrade- if you have an upgrade to get. The other option is of course paying full price.

Did anybody find out more on the $200 gift card? I was just in my local best but and they were not sure if you must preorder the v20 to get the gift card or of you can purchase it on the 24th and still get the gift card.

My BB stated we order the phone on their site and when you get the phone, then they do the card. Seems a$$backwards, but is what it is. I took my trade phone in to verify it qualifies and did. They put a note on my account in case they were not there when come back to get the credit. Seems backward still.

What phone did you use for a trade in? I have a note 3, in very condition ,but Sprint says it'll only give me $5 for it. So I ordered mine thru Best Buy web site.
