Best Buy

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up. I ordered a tf700 from Best Buy last week and got my "Your order is almost complete" email on Thursday. Yesterday (Monday) I called Best Buy, since they don't provide tracking service on their packages for in-store pickup, and they said my order had shipped and should be here today (Tuesday). Today I called them and asked if they knew if my infinity had arrived and they said it won't be there until at least Friday. Then I got an email and called them back and they said it'd be AT LEAST another week. Needless to say I'm pretty pissed, especially because the only other time I've done in-store pickup with them was a year and a half ago with a cd player for my stereo and they did this exact same thing for a month and a half until I finally just canceled my order.

I'm not entirely sure how a product can ship and almost be there, then magically be a week+ away.

Anywho, I just wanted to give people on here a heads up that Best Buy may not be the best possible choice for ordering your tf700

Why didnt you ship directly to your house? Not seeing the benefit of shipping to BB. Just adds another layer of screw up potential.

Shipping to Best Buy should have nothing to do with what went wrong, they don't (at least when I've ordered from them) give you a tracking number, they just send you an email saying "your order is almost complete" and "your order is ready to be picked up", so you actually have no idea of where your item is at.

I didn't ship to my place because I just moved into an apartment where there isn't a place for UPS to drop off my tablet and I work during the day, so just stopping by Best Buy on my way home is easier than dealing with UPS

I ordered for store pick-up from Best Buy last Saturday 7/21 and I picked it up yesterday on 7/25. 32GB Gray & dock (love it!).

There were some confusing e-mails in between (the "in process" e-mail, an e-mail that I received 8 copies of that said that only the dock had been shipped), but in the end I was perfectly satisfied. I was skeptical that the site said 3-5 days, but once I went through the checkout process the date provided was 7/25 and they ended up notifying me that it was in on 7/24.

Damn, maybe I just got bad luck. This has happened to me with them before and I know this happens to them every Christmas (or anytime there's a large demand of anything), so I figured it was going to happen to others. But if you ordered yours 4 days before me and got it the day I was supposed to, maybe it's all good.

I ordered mine from Tigerdirect with next day air for $15 less than best buy wanted, should be here today.

I was screwed the other way around. Ordered from tigerdirect and EDD was the 25th. Two days later I check the order and it says "Backordered", so I call them up and the rude csr says they are expecting a shipment in the next week or so and it will ship out after that. I immediately canceled the order. It took a week for them to release the hold on my account. Will never order from them again, especially after reading up on their shoddy business practices lately. They have the worst BBB rating possible. Just google it.

Ordered from Best Buy at 1 am on the 20th, shipping to store. It stated 3-5 days also, but they gave me a tracking number which was nice and it actually arrived and I picked it up on Monday the 23rd. They didn't have the dock in stock so I ordered the dock and a Samsung 32GB micro SDHD class 10 card from B&H photo. Got that quickly as well.

NOTE TO ALL THAT MAY BUY AN INFINITY-
After looking at Amazon's page for the Infinity, it stated Asus provided free of charge a full one year warranty WITH accidental damage protection. I started looking that up on Asus.com and found out that Asus will not honor that through some retailers, including Best Buy. I guess it's because Best Buy has their own ADP company. Either way, I was kinda peed off on that, especially after paying extra for taxes.

MY RECOMMENDATION - Buy from Amazon if at all possible. Not only do they have them in stock, but super fast shipping (especially if you're prime member like me) AND the 2 year ADP warranty through Square Trade is $25 cheaper on Amazon than going through Square Trade themselves like you have to. Asus will honor the 1 year ADP warranty through Amazon also. So I ended up paying $640 for the tablet and warranty only, when I could have gotten it for $575 through Amazon with the 2 year Square Trade ADP warranty, or $499 through Amazon with Asus' free 1 year ADP warranty.

i got mine from best buy as well. I'm very pleased with the service they provided me. Actually had free shipping on site to store and then they called me the day before letting me know that it was on the truck and can be picked up on the 25th.

I actually ordered from TigerDirect, through Amazon. At the time they were sub 5 in stock. I think it was the evening of Jul 21 that I ordered it, it arrived on Wednesday the 25th. I snuck right in there apparently.
