Best Camera.... stock is too slow

The camera on the LG G4 is shockingly slow.
It takes ages to take a picture making it impossible to capture a moment.

Tried taking pictures whilst out with family this evening. Auto mode. They flash blinded the subject (people) for ages before taking a picture.

Its slow in bright conditions as well.

What is the best camera app to replace the stock camera?

When you say slow, could you give some idea in seconds, or fractions thereof, so that we can discount the possibility that there's something wrong?

Manual Camera, Camera FV-5 are two good, third party apps you can try... Then compare the speed with the stock camera.

If you want a quick, point n shoot camera, give the Google Camera a look, too. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles, but it gets the job done.

I've seen that even on film cameras. From what I remember, I think this particular action is ment to get the people's pupils to shrink so it reduces red eye. Not sure if that's what's going on here, just that it's nothing new.

Are you pertaining to the Autofocus feature?

Yeah it does trail behind the s6 in terms of focusing on an object, but i don't consider the g4 as slow.

That is the red-eye reduction feature of the flash. You can turn off the flash if you want.

If you are taking pictures of people make sure you turn off HDR OFF. That will definitely speed up the camera response.
