My first new car was a 1991 Festiva. Got over 50mpg on highway. I put over 200,000 miles on it. My only regret was that I didn't buy several of them. Thank you for posting the vid. It brings back fond memories.

My 87 mustang had 400,000 miles before got rid of it , fuel pump replacement, oil pump replacement the rest regular maintenance.

400,000. Wow that is very impressive. My brother's 2007 mustang has 200k and runs great. It will probably last at least 300k. It's unfortunate that new car engines are so complicated. On some cars the engine must be pulled in order to change spark plugs. But, then again, some modern cars can go over 100k before a plug change.

Yeah , even the Lincoln town cars that were used as taxi seen over 300k easy the 5.0l and 4.6l
Valve seals replacement was common on the 4.6 engine with higher mileage and not fun doing it with heads in the car lol

100k spark plug replacement should be done much earlier do to plugs being baked in the head and creating bigger job then necessary, it was just used as a sale pitch, also as the gap gets bigger in the plug the harder the coil has to work and can wipe out the coil also , most cars today use coil in each cylinder over just spark plug wires.

I still think dropping a 302 into a pinto hatchback makes the best Ford you can own. Safe, fast, good looking.. what more could you ask for lol. Well... they were fast... one out of three ain't bad lmao.

I agree. I've had 3. An '89 LX 5.0 hatch, a 2011 Performance Package and currently a 2016 GT.
