Any good recommended specific car phone holder for the S8+?
What are pro's / con's of each type? (in terms of where is mounts: vents, vs top-of-dash, etc)
Web links appreciated.

I like these... https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5923023

I have the wireless charging one. They stay on the windshield very well. I have heard of complaints about sticking it to the dash, but I dont use that method. You can read it in the reviews. The ones without the wireless charging are much cheaper and still great, but I like to charge my phone while navigating and streaming music. It doesn't charge fast, but at least I don't drain my battery during the hour commute.

Yeah, this is a very subjective question. It's going to be based on car, whether dash or window mounted, will you mount in the center or on the left, etc. For example, I got this one on a Prime Day special: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5923153
I have a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder and I mounted this on the dash in the center. Same mount won't work in my Focus ST because my gauges get blocked, even if mounting on the windshield. I also find that no matter how hard I finger tighten the screws, there is still some sort of play that allows my phone to move. I hate that. I need something that once it's locked in place, there is no swivel.

Brodit active chargers are great. Just slots in and out, swivels and tilts as needed and can be customized to your vehicle.

hey, and the amazon flag/tag under the title says "#1 Best Seller in Arc Welding Electrode Holders"

I see that orange flag and pay attention, but saw the welding thing and I was amused... what algorithm came up with that?
when they catch it, somebody is going to be digging through a lot of code... QA teams form to the right.

I have one that works well on my car, and it has the charge function so I think it is very helpful.
And the price of it is very nice, but sometimes it will fall down because of the bumps.

well i think it is better to have a base plate to held the phone tightly that might well protect the phone from dropping.
