I'm a Spigen fan and love their choices of case types, colors and form. This is my initial case purchase for my Note 8. Arriving today.

Thanks but only landscape view possible with that case. Need portrait and landscape. VRS used to make one for note 7 but not note 8

I got two cases today. One is a very basic hard clear plastic by Gpel, and the other was the free Ipulse leather folio case that I have to write a review for on Amazon and XDA as a condition of the freebie part. The Gpel is ok. Very good corner protection. The cutouts are all ok, the Spen is a little hard to get in and out but not so difficult I don't want to use the case. I think the case will be hard to get off! I had a Gpel screen protector on and though it lifted slightly on one side when I was trying to get the case on, it smoothed out and really has no where to go so it's fine. It still makes the screen a little less sensitive but not terribly so. My only qualm about this case other than getting on and off, which is a little hard but I have hand problems so that may be just me, is that it is just the clear plastic back, without any of the tpu insert inside to cushion shock if it fell.


The Ipulse case is nice leather and has a hard tpu or some such innner part to hold the phone in place, several card slots, and a magnetic closure. I like it a lot, my only 2 quibbles are that for some reason the volume rocker is a little hard for me to push with this case on, and the hard plastic inner part is attached to the leather at the halfway point so that when I try to fold it back to talk on the phone (some of us still do now and then) it's awkward, but not horrible. On the whole I like both cases a lot. I think both of these are pretty good.

okay, I need to add something to the above. I did get those two cases but the Gpel I put on my phone isn't the one in the above post, that is one my daughter got for me and it's fine but I got and put on and the review above is actually for the Everpure Max. Which doesn't still have any insert to cushion it but does have very good corner protection and is still hard for me to get on and off and to get the Spen out of. But I like it better than the one I described above. Which is still ok, just not quite as good on the corners.

Thank you for that link! That's a great looking case, and I think it's actually the Blue N8 that caught my eye. It's gorgeous!

I also got the ipulse in yesterday. It's a great looking case. Soft leather. I love it and will definitely use it on weekends when I "pack light".

My BestBuy buddy said they're getting them for the Holidays as a special release. He works there. I asked him if he's 100% sure, and he said 90%. I'm not waiting on it but 3 of his coworkers are. So that's 4 employees in 2 different stores who are sure enough to wait it out. Idk...

I really like this case. I'm going to pick it up from Best Buy today I originally pre ordered Samsung's protective cover in black for the minimal look. But I'm just too worried about dropping this phone any minute now and this looks like a safe case for any accidents lol

How is the wireless charging? Samsung said you need to take the phone out of this case for wireless charging to work.

I don't have a wireless charger yet to test it out, but I'll keep you posted when I get the chance. I've heard the wireless charger works on thicker cases like the Otterbox Defender, so I assume it should work with this case as well. But we'll see.
