Best exercise armband?

I need something to jog with that still allows use of the phone - the touch screen and home, etc. buttons. Nice to have would be extra storage for a key or cable management for headphones.

I tried this one but I do not recommend it because the clear panel hides the home, etc. buttons.. makes it pretty much useless despite the seller claiming it supports the droid maxx -- armband

(It is quite a pain to search for MAXX accessories.. too much RAZR junk to filter through).

Anyone found anything that works well? I see some from Tunebelt that work for the S4, I'm guessing that would work but want to see if anyone has tried it before ordering..

crickets? I realize this thing is kinda large to run with, but I like doing everything with one device so I don't want an iPod or other music player.

I think I am about to order this armband

That's the one that i picked up the other day but I have been traveling and have not had a chance to try it out.

I stopped using my phone to work out with and got the motoactv watch. (gas, heart rate, and can store music, so it did everything I needed it to do) I ruined two phones by running with them. Stupid sweat.

You can get one of those fuelbelts (for carrying water bottles, etc.); they usually have a pocket large enough to carry a phone. For sweat, rain, etc., carry the phone in a sandwich size ziploc bag - you can still use the touchscreen through the bag if you need to. The fuelbelts do look a little dorky, but so do armbands, IMHO.

I carry my phone in a pocket of my shorts because wearing an armband doesn't make actually using the phone any easier (though I rarely do interact with the phone, maybe three times a year I'll get a critical phone call or text while I'm out running.)

Are you able to pin music to that from Google Play Music All Access?

Nope, but you can put on any music you may already own. I listen to podcasts and talk shows when I run so I don't run to fast and trying to stay at pace, I run to fast when I music.

Thanks for the input. I must not exercise enough to kill a phone.. and I like the armband approach, don't want to carry anything else and I think it works better if I do need to use wired headphones (I don't typically, unless I run out of charge on the bluetooth headset).

I will try the S3/S4 tunebelt model - I had a tune belt a couple of years ago and it was by far the best quality armband I've tried. Thanks!

Just to close this out, the tunebelt for the G3/GS4 works well. The clear panel is a little lose fitting which can cause glare issues if you don't get the phone in there just right, but overall quality, features, fit, etc are better than the other two armbands I tried that claimed MAXX support.

Thanks for the input!

I have been using one from Sporteer for a month now with my Nexus 5. My friend has the Driod Maxx and his phone fits in my armband as well. I definitely know what it feels like not to be able to touch the home button but this armband has a big enough window to let you interact with the full screen. You also mentioned carrying pockets and someone mentioned sweat. This one has a sweat barrier and it has enough room on the inside to store stuff. Here's the link: V1x Running Armband | Sporteer

I would recommend going with the higher quality armband - Armpocket. I've used them for years, they are rugged and durable, sweat proof, weather-proof - I've run in 3 hours rain without any problems at all. These armbands are better built and more comfortable than any other on the market.
