Best extended battery/case combo for Note 3!

I didn't expect double battery life. Just a little bit longer than the stock battery. After going through a few charging cycles, battery life is pretty good. I'm getting about a day and 12,15 hrs. I don't mind the added bulk of the battery. How much bulk does the anker add to the note?

Anker does add a bit of weight but not too bad. It's way less than the Zerolemon extended battery, which I have too.

The bad thing is there are hardly any good cases for the Anker...

Can you please explain the adaptation you madr to the otterbox defender in order for it to work with the anker 6400 battery?

Hope my explanation is clear below. If not you search some YouTube videos

There two routes you can go. You can. Find a Dremel and cut a hole in the back plastic piece of the otterbox defender. Or you can do my method. (YouTube has videos on modifying a S4 with cutting, same idea with note 3 to give you some idea)

Otterbox defender comes with 3 pieces, two inner plastic pieces and the outer softer TPU shell

For use with the Anker extended battery, use the back cover of the phone that came with Anker. Now use the front plastic piece that came with otterbox, that goes over the front of the phone but do NOT use the back plastic piece

Then put the outer rubber TPU otterbox over the phone. Will be a tight fit but fits perfectly

Now you have all the otterbox protection with the 6400 mah extended battery too. And I can attest it protects the phone. My kid threw my phone, in this setup, against the wall. My tempered glass screen protector scattered but phone was perfect. I replaced the screen protector. And the actual screen was perfect too!

Hope that makes sense. If not let me know. You Can always cut the back plastic piece instead but I thought that was too much hassle

Would this work without using the front part of the otter?

No you need the front plastic piece from otterbox. That's what the outer soft cover folds around to stay in place.

I bought the Otterbox based on your advice but I'm having a problem with your setup. The TPU case is so tight that it jams my power button. Problem with that is it puts my phone in a constant reboot cycle because the button is always activated.

Did you have this problem? How did you solve it?

I'm thinking I can cut the inside "nub" that presses against the button. But then I'm worried I won't be able to activate the power button at all if there isn't enough contact.

Guys I super happy for this thread, and upon reading, and from past experience, I am deciding to go with the anker 6400 mah for my note 3.
My question is, i want the Seido Dilex case but I'm only seeing the Seido Dilex case for 4800 battery.
Are you suggesting I get the seido 4800 CASE for the anker 6400 battery? Will that fit?

Seido 4800 will work great with the Anker 6400. This is the one you want http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4149633

I would avoid the Otterbox with the 6400. My experience is that it will not work without significant modification.

Hello - I'm considering either the Anker 6500mah or the MPJ 8500mah for my Note 3. I read your old post and wondered if you have knowledge of the MPJ 8500mah? Thanks.

As much as i love extended batteries and have used them on almost every phone i have had. I just love the way the phone feels with stock battery. Plus it lasts me a day no problem.

After reading through this thread (great discussion, thanks!) I was able to determine what I wanted to purchase. I thought I would share for the record.

I purchased the Anker 6400ah battery and the Seidio extended battery case, obviously both for GN3. The Anker battery fits perfectly in the Seidio case and the battery life on it is crazy. I had GPS, Wifi, and Bluetooth on yesterday and was on Kindle for a while, and plugged it in at night with 40% battery remaining. There is no way I could have done that on the factory battery. Having one twice as large sure is great! I'm no longer tied to a charger in the evenings or trying to find one during the day to boost my battery life.

I found that both the case and the battery were cheapest on Amazon, so I would look there first. Seidio wanted $10 more for theirs on their website than what I found on Amazon.

My initial impression of the Seidio case is that it is well manufactured and it sure fits the phone well. The rubber is of a lower durometer than my previous case though. This is probably because this one has a rubber cover and plastic external skeleton and the previous case (A UAG case) was just the rubber so it was harder. A different feel, but not an unpleasant one. It tries to stick in my pocket more than the other case did (probably also because the phone is larger now), but I'm sure that will change with time.

All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. Thanks everyone for the guidance.

I have some other news to report. After having the case on for a few weeks (and really liking it) I have had complaints from a couple of different people of an echo whenever they talk. I hear them just fine, but I have tried it (used my wife's phone to call mine) and there is a definite echo. You remove the case and the problem goes away.

Is this just a characteristic of the case? I have no idea how this is even possible, with the speaker up above and the mic at the bottom you wouldn't think this could happen. Any thoughts? I like the case, but not if it echoes like this! It's OK if I'm on the phone with a friend, but I can't use this case and take business calls.

Thanks in advance!

I have the same setup with battery and case, but have had no complaints about speaker phone echo unless I am too far away from the phone. Get a little closer and perhaps the echo will lessen. As long as your phone's microphone is centered within the hole in the case, I can't see how the case will cause the echo issue.

I am convinced that Anker is the choice of the pros. After at least a half dozen other manufacturers, short lived, swollen and in efficient batteries Anker came thru with flying colors.
My 2 year Old Samsung Note 3 with 2 replaced cracked screens and a war torn Siedo View Extended battery case also survived a canoe flip in a lake (total Submersion).
The 6400 ANKER battery was there to experience the threat for each experience which to this end has failed to provide me with a minimum 60% reserved use daily and has l run on occasion 2 days before seriously needing a recharge. Im confidently pursuing the same type setup for my next purchase of the Sammy Note5 soon,.

Hi , I read most of what been saied here about Samsung note 3 extended battery. however been in the uk i couldnot find a supplier for Anker 6400 .
any hepl ?

reg.
Taha

screen mode set to adopt display, does that drain battery faster or saves battery? some site say use it some say turn it off lol

I use the Anker 6400 battery and love the freedom it gives me from the charger. Seidio makes a case for their extended battery that also fits the 6400 perfectly right from the package. I have modified the Otterbox Defender so that it also works and fits like it should. I switch back and forth, so mentally it's like a new phone after the swap.

Its a great battery, I was skeptical the first couple of days as it was giving me roughly the same on time as my stock battery but a a couple charges later I was getting roughly 2 days .

Hey guys, well got myself a Note 3 from a friend really cheap since i broke my last phone. And since it's been many years since the ohone came out, I need y'alls help on finding an extended battery for this phone. Then Anker 6400 mAh is no longer in production so I desperately need y'alls help!

Thanks in advanced!
