Hey everybody,

After using my HTC One for about a week & a half I am still struggling to make it through a complete day without needing to charge the phone. The problem is I hate charging the phone for just 20-30 minutes and then having to unplug. (I'm a student) Also most of the seats aren't near an outlet so I have to leave my phone by itself against the wall to charge which is terrifying since it could either get stepped on or stolen. Thankfully I have managed my battery pretty well and so far it's only died on me once during the day but I am having to baby it a little bit which I do not like. I was wondering if any of you have a preferred charging method for your One? A specific company, capacity, type, etc. I really don't know much at all about external chargers so your help is greatly appreciated.

Edit: I neglected to mention that I already have my One in an Otterbox case so I am interested in external charging packs. Thanks!

Question..would you rather a charging case or an external battery?

I just purchased a Mophie case for the ONE and it should be here by monday. I think its ideal because like you I am a student and I also work part time (sometimes on the same day) so I need that extra life. I had an extended battery on my s2 and that thing never died on me since the day I bough it (7 hours screen time and all).

It depends on preference if you buy the Mophie:
-Adds weight
-Unified with the phone
-Can easily switch on the case and it charges
-Also adds protection
- Covers up the beauty of the phone

External:
-Non-unified
-Relatively cheaper
- Can charge multiple phones with the same charging port

P.S I know android central has an external charger on sale for 20 right now

Plug it into your laptop, surely you have an ultrabook that has like 6 hours of battery life?

I just ordered this: Amazon.com: RAVPower? Dynamo-On-the-Go RP-PB07 10400mAh External Backup Battery Pack Charger / Power Bank (Premium Samsung Cells Adopted, 5V / 3A Dual USB Output, Free Wall Charger & Carrying Pouch Included, Limited Edition, originally labeled 10000m

I haven't received it yet so I can't say how it works but it has plenty of positive reviews.

I just bought this.

Amazon.com: Skiva PowerVault 5000mAh Rapid Charging Portable Power Pack for iPhone/iPad/iPod, Kindle Fire, Samsung, HTC and LG Smartphones: Computers & Accessories

Saved me at a trade show this week. By end of the day my battery was nearly dead and heading out to dinner and drinks with no place to charge my phone. With the cable built in you don't have to worry about carrying around a micro usb cable as well. Small and can fit in to a pocket. Charges the phone pretty fast too. and the size allows for a couple of full charges before you need to recharge the device. Highly recommend!

Well, since I have already invested in an Otterbox case I would prefer an external charger to a case-charger. (sorry I forgot to mention this) Also, I like the idea of just unplugging when it's through charging and throwing it in my bag or pocket without having the extra thickness and size that comes with a case-charger. My main concern about an external charger is the effect on battery life in the long-term since I will have this phone for at least 2 years.

I travel quite often so I get both the case (Mophie) and the external battery (Anker E4 13000mAh). They help my One to get over 2 full days.

Hey man hope u decide what to do. I wanted to throw something your way. First thing I downloaded on my HTC One when i bought it was a free app called DS Battery Saver. You just download it and when you open it it will give u settings. you click the big on button and at the middle click slumber. so when the box says Slumber ON.. it should be set. I never turn it off. It basically turns off your wifi and 3g/4g when screen is off. You will still get text messages and facebook messages as the appear. But give it a try for a day and see how you like. I 've been getting over a full work day and than some. https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...W5pbnN0YWxsZXIuYmF0cnNhdmVyIl0&token=TX9SpSqv.
