Are Seagate a good brand, and are they compatible with cell phones. Also any other good long term storage for photos and videos besides computers? I'm getting the 516 gb in the s22ultra, but I want to store the best photos and videos on another device!

I've used the brand years ago when I built PC's for people. It wasn't always my first choice, and was one of the more affordable brands. If it's an SSD it may be ok. For that price I'm not sure it is, but I like I mentioned, their devices were known to be affordable. I paid $109 for a 1TB Samsung SSD from Samsung.com.

Are the WD SSD brand worth the money?

I was going to suggest WD. Having said that, I've used different brands of SSD's and they've all been ok. They can get corrupted but I haven't had one physically fail yet.

You definitely want to go SSD rather than hard disc. And if you did want a hard disc, avoid Seagate like the plague.

WD, SanDisk and Samsung all make solid SSDs.

So SD card make a decent long term storage device?

High quality ones can, they are resistant to most types of damage and should hold data for a decade. They are slower than mechanical drives though, obviously can't hold as much data either.

No, they don't.

They're slow and more prone to corruption and damage.

If you have a bunch of high capacity ones already, a USB-C card reader makes sense economically. But for long term storage you want an SSD and for portable storage you're better off with a flash drive.
