Best fix for "stuck on boot up screen"??

First time since the S7 was released, my S7 today got stuck on the bright white boot-up screen when I powered it on today. I finally figured out I could hit Vol DOWN, POWER to reboot it but in the interim I tried other combos, freaking out a bit as it was getting quite warm and draining the battery quickly from being stuck on the bright white screen.

Do I do nothing, do a Factory Reset, or start saving my money for another phone?

This is where I really miss being able to take out the stupid battery

I think your best option at this point is a factory reset unless you can get to the bootloader and do a cache clear first. Might help, might not but at this point I don't think you have much to lose.

I cleared the cache and have restarted 2x without incident. I'm wondering if anyone else has been stuck on the boot-up screen just once or just a few times over the course of many months, without the issue becoming more prevalent.
