Best keyboard

Aye I suppose. Hey, I'm a big Swiftkey fan so you don't have to convince me. But it's not free and Rozroz is obviously typing fine at the moment. Perhaps I should have worded it differently. Is Swiftkey better than stock? IMO yes (a lot). Is it essential? No, all the other keyboards work well enough. Android is all about choice and what's best for you. Swiftkey is popular and people are willing to purchase it for a reason - it really is excellent.

thanks. i'll consider buying Swift, cause i DO get many "com"s, and "."s with the Stock.

Your right, SwiftKey isn't essential. I got on fine without it before it came along and even while it was out. Once introduced though, it's impossible to go back to any stock keyboard.

And that's really the main thing... There is nothing really wrong with the stock keyboard, but once you've become used to Swiftkey, it's really hard to go back.

I'm sorry but SwiftKey is not the best in my opinion. I used to use it but I've found the stock keyboard is much better

I like the HTC One stock keyboard just fine, but I've been a fan of SwiftKey for a long time. The stock keyboard is missing so many great features that SwiftKey brings to the table, especially the ability to undock, split and resize the keyboard, not to even mention flow. My usage stats show that it helps me be 26 percent more efficient whilst typing on the phone. I'd also like to hear why you prefer stock.

i would take those stats with a grain of salt.

Why so? I've actually never poked around to see how they are calculated.

precisely because of this.

no one knows how they are calculated.

afaik they are a marketing tool so that you go ahead and press the "share" button and submit those dubious numbers to your friends.

for starters, to what are they compared to? more efficient than what?

I found this on the SwiftKey site:

http://support.swiftkey.net/knowled...re-improvements-in-efficiency-and-keystrokes-

It looks like they answered the question about where the stats come from. Efficiency is measured by subtracting the total number of keys pressed from the total number of entered characters and then dividing that total by the total number number of entered characters multiplied by 100.

Now I will have to disagree that the stats should be taken with a grain of salt. I think they're fine to use since SwiftKey is willing to explain what they mean. After all, what is language but defined words?

I don't actually share any stats with my friends like you mentioned. I annoyed the crap out of them with RunKeeper stats for a while though. Lol
