So in an article about the best LARGE SCREEN Phones the nod is given to the Pixel 2 XL overall because it is not TOO big(in the first freaking paragraph!!!) What kind of sense does that make???
So what is your pick Roe? Myself I like the Pixel 2 XL's "kissing cousin" the LG V30. It has a headphone jack (and enhanced sound for it) and an SD card slot, but it is otherwise VERY similar to the Pixel 2 XL. On the Pixel side you WILL get better access to updates and new versions of Android.![]()
Galaxy Note8 for me any day - the SPen, the huge 6.3inch SuperAMOLED display , Dual OIS cameras, 6GB RAM, 3.5mm jack, Fast Wireless Charging and MicroSD support make it the best all-round device for me personally.
When I buy a Phablet I want everything in it, it needs to be a Powerhouse, a Swiss Army Knife, the Pixel 2 XL has too many compromises to meet that, for me.
I too really like the V30 - smaller footprint (sorry!), a headphone jack, beautiful screen, that floating dock widget, and water and dust resistant.
I know not too many people like bigger phones, but I love them. I just thought it was funny that the first paragraph of "Best Large Screen (Phablet) Android Phone in 2018... ????" picked the Pixel 2XL because it wasn't "TOO" big!!!
Yes - ironic, for sure! Some people love enormous phones, which is cool! I personally love the look of the S8+/S9+. The V30 is my favourite, though.
Yes, the last Galaxy I had before the Note8 was the S3, it was ok at first then gave me all kinds of problems. After that I had, HTC One M8, Moto X Pure, Nexus 6, Lenovo Phab 2 Pro. LG was always on my radar, but have never purchased one.
I tried the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro for a few months, had a large 6.4" 16:9 screen, but that thing never got an update. Also had an audio lag issue. Took it out the other day and still no updates. The big screen was nice, but I will say that some apps would display like they were on a tablet so that wasn't good either.
How did you like the Nexus 6?
I liked the Nexus 6, but it had weak cameras.
