Hello,

Please read carefully before you reply as there are a few different issues with this...

I’m having trouble finding good free (ideally), or cheap apps to be able to open, and or edit various kinds of docs on my Android Phone (Samsung A33), and Andoid Tablet (Samsung S7-FE).

Though my priority is using this on my Phone for sure.

There are a few problems with this…

They look awful and often are not 100% functional / missing stuff…
Also, another big concern, many of the apps are cloud based.

Microsoft 365 (free file reader) is the one I use the most because it at least looks pretty well 100% right for the files I’ve used so far.

However, I’d really like to avoid cloud based apps like Microsoft 365 (free reader app), as it requires you to upload every single file, then it sends it back to you.

Which is really slow, considering I already have the file !

For some reason, this only ever works 1 out of 4 times, which is really annoying, even though our internet is solid? So you are repeatedly trying to open files for no reason.

The other concern is that they are hoovering up all your data and contents of your files. This is awful. Many people aren’t even aware that’s what they do, how they work.

The other stupid thing is this: If you don’t have internet, if it’s down for some reason, you can’t access files that are already sitting on your own device. It’s madness !

I’ve tried a couple Office Libre apps but they seem to mess things up a lot, and stop you doing stuff.

I’ve tried loads but they are all pretty awful.

BTW, I will consider other Cloud apps, but they are definitely the last resort.

I particularly want Word/Office Libre Docs, and RTFs etc, to retain all the formatting and look like they should etc.

For example, I have one file with lots of different highlighting in different colours, which is important for that file, but many viewers remove it all? That’s no good !

Also interested in PDFs, and other usual suspects.

I hope y’all might have some good ideas, cause I’m sick of installing app after app trying to find something good.

Thank you for your help
