AC Question

I've had problems with moto x and heard about nexus problems recently.

You might want to specify what kind of BT connection you are looking for feedback on. I think BT reliability with different kinds of devices can vary. FWIW I have never had a BT connectivity problem with my LG V10 paired with my moto360 watch. I have had problems downloading buggy AW apps that locked up my watch... you know how open source coding can be at times. Even then none of them interrupted BT connectivity.

I would target the specific app first... clearing cache might help, deleting and re-installing. Google search for info, if the problem is wide-spread chances are its being discussed already.

I'm not sure that you can completely keep carriers out of a bluetooth discussion. When I was on T-Mobile, my Nexus 6 paired quickly and silently with my Sorento, even after OS updates, and even after the fabled 7.1.1 speakerphone fail. Now, on Fi, the car unit interrupts my tunes every damn day to announce, "Connection complete." That's never happened before.

My 6P connects reliably to my Huawei watch and to my Plantronics Voyager Pro headset. Now that I think about it, I had some issues early on with the headset taking over the BT stack but that's cleared up recently.

... All the more reason I will ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS (repeat a million times over) prefer a traditional headphone jack and cable. It just WORKS, and sounds better in doing so.

I've always had the best luck with Samsung phones when it comes to Bluetooth working properly. GS7, Note 5,Galaxy Grand Prime have all worked flawlessly every time with the car's phone and audio.

Bluetooth has never worked well for me on stock android - Nexus 5x, Moto X Pure Edition. Music gets choppy after returning from a phone call. Form what I hear on the Pixel forums, Bluetooth issues are common on the Pixel and Pixel XL.

For my use, Bluetooth is the Achilles heal of stock android in its current state. It's why I haven't switched from my GS7 to a Pixel.
