Best Photo Gallery App for Android 11

I have a Samsung S51 phone with Android 11. I'm looking for a photo gallery app that allows me to organize by folder > sub-folder > file. Maybe the folders and sub-folders could be called albums.... for example, I'd like to have a folder (album) called "Travel" with sub-folders (albums) for each trip. In each trip sub-folder (album), I would have all of the picture files for that trip. Most of the apps I've looked at only allow organization at one level.

Does such an app exist?

Welcome to Android Central! Try Simple Gallery Pro. It's highly recommended by JR Raphael, the Android tech writer I trust the most.

Folder Gallery is another one to try, but this one hasn't been updated since 2018.

+1 for the Simple Gallery Pro app. Be sure to dig into the Settings menu of the app, there's a lot of feature tweaks and user interface options packed in it.

+1 Simple Gallery. You can create sub-folders and then decide if you want to group them or show them individually. It's quite good to organise how you want to view your folder structure.

UPDATE: I downloaded Simple Gallery Pro and it seems to do what I want to do in a limited way. It doesn't seem to allow me to create a folder structure on my microSD card and then have the app scan it and organize in a way that mirrors the folder structure. It seems to work for a couple of folders (albums) and sub-folders but not all of them. I reached out to Simple Mobile Tools and their response was, "Yeah, it can glitch in some cases, allowing some manual fixes is on the roadmap." Not really helpful.

I will try Javier's suggestion ..... If I understand correctly, I would have to do all the folder creation and movement to organize on in the app itself. Is that true?

Try the other one I suggested above as well, Folder Gallery.
