Hey all, awhile ago I noticed a light spot on my Droid X screen. Nothing major, and really not even noticeable unless you are on a white background. It makes the screen look somewhat blueish in hue. Anyway, I've tried to ignore it for a few months as it doesn't affect the performance of the phone. However I feel like its gotten bigger recently. It's to the point where its beginning to bother me. I have a monthly insurance on the phone so I'm wondering if there is any reason not to return it.
The thing that really keeps me form doing this is the fact that I've spent a ton of time customizing the phone UI. The device is unrooted but I use launcher pro, widget locker, and desktop visualizer to drastically alter the device's look. I don't want to spend the time resetting all of this again over a small little splotch on the screen. What's the best way to back up the phone EXACTLY how it is now with all of the custom icons, apps, data, etc. If I knew I could accomplish an exact replica of my current software setup, I'd start the device exchange. However, if I can't guarantee that, I'll probably hold out on my hardware for awhile until the problem gets worse.
Should I root using Z4Root and then use titanium or is there a better option for unrooted phones? I currently have MyBackup Pro but haven't had to use it to restore so I'm not sure how that works.
Thanks for any help you all can provide!
