Best replacement camera app for LGG4?

Has anyone found a better camera app replacement for the LGG4? I am having some issues with my camera and have tried several other replacement apps from the Play Store. I have found that some of the apps actually take better pics but are limited in features. The one I really like is 'Open Camera,' which I would use as default in an instant, but it only seems to have 4x zoom instead of the 8x zoom that the default camera app is capable off. This is a deal breaker for me, I need the 8x zoom!

So does anyone have recommendations or any idea how to increase Open Camera's zoom power?

Just an FYI the zoom is digital and is the same thing as cropping the picture. ( it lowers the pictures quality as it zooms in, instead of actually zooming in the lens)

I just keep the Google Camera app on my phone in case I have an urge to do a photo sphere.

The only other feature I find I need is the ability to take low resolution photos for emailing to someone when sending a link isn't appropriate in a business situation. Google Camera also can fill this need.

Otherwise I'm a bit hesitant to use other apps as my main app as I'm not sure if the stock app maximises the awesome hardware in this phone... E.g. laser focus ois etc.

I like Camera FV-5 paid version although it's buggy sometimes. Display easier to read than stock app. Has manual controls and lots of setup options.

I like Manual Camera http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=553543 but a) it doesn't use the hardware awesomeness (laser focus, colour detection, etc.) and b) the zoom is less (just answering the OP... I'm very aware of the fruitlessness of doing a digital zoom.)

However it does have a few key benefits - just read through that thread I linked to.

Low resolution options
No portrait rotation issues
Easy access to manual exposure, etc

I'm guessing but I'd say no... my experience with Manual Camera shows that colours and focus are not as good.
