I NEED THE BEST VANILLA 2.1 ROM..sorry just rooted my girlfriends eris. Which is the best possible vanilla rom any of you could recommend me?

Kaosfroyo on xda forums. Its basically the most stable and everything seems to work.

Kaosfroyo is not 2.1

When you say vanilla, do you mean vanilla Android (so it works like the Droid or the Nexus One), or Vanilla Eris (so it works like the Eris except without the lag, etc.)?

If stock Android, my two favorites are:

CELB Lightning Bolt 2.8
Droid Does

If Stock Eris without the lag, my two favorites are:

xtrSENSE 4.0.6.1
PlainJane T2

In all cases, read that first post's instructions very carefully and follow all of the instructions requires (and any of the optional features that they mention that you like or need) to the letter.

I'd look into them right now, but Air Force filters say no, lol. Which of these do you think is the most stable while keeping all the phone's features intact? I rooted my wife's Eris in hopes to fix its issues, but we're still having some. I flashed a Desire-based ROM with Sense so that she'd be familiar with it, but even this ROM is having issues. Appreciate any advice until I can check these out later tonight.

Try out PlainJaneT2 first, and then perhaps xtrSENSE. Or the other way. Both are excellent, and based on the Eris build.

Kaosfroyo may not be 2.1 but it's better, It's the best Reia ROM out there period.

I haven't tried the others but kaosfroyo works great. Very few if any bugs , super fast.
