Best settings for WI-Fi tether

I'm trying to set up my hotspot with the best settings to run my X-Box online(it really is my only option). The Verizon app seems to work, but for some reason wifi tether is not working appropriately.

Have you tried using the wifi tether app?

sorry, should have been more clear.... I actually specifically met the app Wi Fi Tether
