Anyone really like Handcent but prefer GoSMS pro now? Why?

I don't like the look of the pop up in GoSMS. Does it have quick text, pre drafted text?

I've had my TB for a little over a week now, my first smartphone and it is awesome. I'm currently using Handcent because I can't stand the way the stock app looks. However, I've noticed that the MMS messaging for Handcent has a pitifully small cap on the size. Is this consistent for the free messaging apps or is there a better alternative?

The way I understand by MMS cap is that there's a reduce in quality. I noticed that especially when sending pics. I.can't send the highest quality settings of my pics without getting reduced.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I've attempted to send videos that I've recorded as an MMS message, and on all but the lowest quality, shortest videos I've received a message stating that it was over the size limit.

I just attempted to send a routine smallish pic (i.e 1.3MB) from my Camera via MMS. I got a "picture too big" message with no offer of downsizing. Emailing it works, though, with no downsizing.

EDIT: Sorry, I messed up. I just tried this again (sending pic via MMS) and it did in fact auto-downsize the camera pick from ~1.5MB to ~500KB. But it did work. My bad.

The reason it didn't have an option to resize is because it has nothing to do with the app. What app were you using?

Edit: I attempted to attach an 8mp pic with Handcent. It offered to resize it for me.

Gallery. Then it asked me to select "Astro" or "OfficePro" or "QuickOffice" to "complete the task". I got the same message with all but QuickOffice, I didn't try that.

Handcent was my thing

But a couple days ago, it just became unresponsive. Messages took too long to send, messages took too long to open, force closing so I'm back to stock. The problem with stock is that is look so boring. Its all small

Handcent here. Is there a way to set up an auto-delete of old SMS messages like on the Stock Messages? I liked the 200 count limit but can't find something like that on Handcent.

I quit using go sms pro today. First when I updated the app, I lost ALL my text messages. Second, it was showing the wrong sender for apps. The stock text app was fine however.

Handcent SMS, I made it look like a black iPhone theme, and made the text smaller and in scribblish hand writing. I love the customization on Android phones compared to that garbage they call an iPhone. (Even though I do like the style of the iPhone SMS)

You can set the Go sms pro to look like the Iphone style. One of my co-workers thought I changed my Bolt for a Iphone when he saw me txting.

That's how I have mine set up. Lately, I can't stop changing how I use the phone, so I guess I'll have to try out Go SMS now.

EDIT: Custom background image? I may have just found my new SMS app. Thanks guys!

I've been using Handcent. Stock app crashed/locked on me 24/7.

I liked the Pansi app, but they screwed it up somehow. Until recently it was hands down the best in my opinion!
