Best TBolt Window Mount?

I don't have that particular one for the Thunderbolt, so I don't have anything to say for that one.

However, I did happen to buy their Mega-Grip model, which functions as a universal mount for all kinds of phones due to its flexible and adaptable nature. My thoughts on it?

My Thunderbolt is currently sporting an extended battery along with the Seidio CONVERT CASE for Extended Batteries. If you have seen any of those in live-action or any real pictures of it, you will know that it adds on a lot of bulk, which was something that I was concerned about while waiting for the Mega-Grip to come into the mail.

The Arkon Mega-Grip holds onto it very well, though I have not thoroughly tested it yet (like sharp turns, sudden stops/acceleration and whatnot). As long as the grip stayed in place and the Thunderbolt was placed securely, I had no issues at all, even with the thick, bulky case on it. The bulkiness of the case does cause the Thunderbolt to stick out beyond the legs slightly (I may modify it to have it extend further), but it didn't have an issue since the majority of the weight was still sitting on the legs. If you're a regular OEM battery user, I imagine this will be of no issue for you. I bought this on Amazon for about $15 free shipping due to Prime (yay for being a college student!). Also, there is access to the USB port.

I hope that helps. Cheers!

Does it have enough space for the power plug? Many grip holders don't. Does it have clearance for the camera? The diagram shows it as 4 inches tall which seems like it would be right at the camera lens.

There is clearance for the camera. However, it is slightly covered by the mount from the bottom (approximately 1/5 of the screen). This can easily be fixed if you add a booster of some kind under the phone.

And yes, there is enough space for the USB port/power plug for you to plug in as you're using a GPS navigation app.

I just adopted the Verizon dash mount last night. After one car trip, I'd say the thing is functional, yet a little wobbly. More to come as I put it through it's paces. (I was unable to test hard accelleration, cornering, and braking as my vehicle is awaiting certain driveline upgrades/repairs.)

I have the Verizon branded iGrip window mount, it is awesome. As stated before it does put the phone in "Car" mode, but you can easily get out of that and have a fully functional phone at eye level. It is very solid, the adjustment nobs allow you to tighten it so that it doesn't wiggle when driving.

I've heard that the official HTC-branded mount is quite good. It can even hold the phone with the extended battery.

I bought that holder with a ball mount that I screwed to a suction cup gooseneck mount I had for my previous phones. I modified it by taking off the suction cup and using Scotch double-sided tape to tape it to the window. It's been there 10+ years without falling off. Although the grip held the phone the whole thing was a bit shaky on the gooseneck. It also covers the camera. I abandoned the Arkon mount and opted for a different mount that I found on eBay for about 5 bucks + shipping. It's a universal holder which clamps the phone by the sides. I like that mount because it leaves the camera exposed and it just happened to mate prefectly to the existing gooseneck I had. It's still a bit shaky but it's much better than the Arkon mount I was using. I like running with the DailyRoads app recording my driving and that works out pretty well. Please excuse the crappy pictures. It was bright inside the car and the backlight wasn't playing nice with the TB's camera.

Has anyone experienced any problems with the heat that comes from it being mounted in the windshield? I'm looking at getting the iGrip but my last android, the venerable li'l ol' Eris, would quit charging when it was mounted in the windshield on a hot day - which is often down here in South Carolina! Just wondering how heat resistant these Tbolts are in the oven that can be the windshield....

Does it have an option to mount it fixed to the dash with an adhesive or is it suction only?
