Best Texting/SMS app on Verizon?

Loved the look of Textra but it's horrible on group chats with iphone users and I missed a lot of family updates.

Agree with the group chat issues. What are you using now?

Currently switched to Facebook Messenger (have tried all the popular texting apps) for all my messaging. I like their pop up chat head notification feature. (plus now everything is all in one app for me)
Waiting for Googles Allo to try out next though.

What happens with the group chat on textra? I don't seem to have problems. I changed the port to 80 cause stupid Verizon doesn't let you change APN settings for Samsung messages so I can't group chat on there

I have been happy with Textra on all my phones. Probably my biggest reason is if I hot the home button to leave a conversation, when I got back into Textra I'm in the conversation screen and not the last conversation I left. I think that's due to my seeing a msg popup, go into app and am in wrong convo. With Messages + I have to back out of each conversation.

The only reason i am now using message+ is because with message+ if the other person also has verizon then you get to see delivered, and typing reports like imessage. but that only works in verizon with another verizon user in message+ as far as i understand.
