What is the best use for your phone? What do you do most?

Why did you get an Android phone in the first place?

I got mine for work/email/school, and a lot for play. Also, I got it just so I could have a better phone than my girlfriend (Eris) she's mighty jealous of my screen. Hers won't even run Angry birds, and she won't let me root it. Just wanting to see why YOU got your phone, what you use it for, and maybe some fun things?

I used to have a blackberry curve 8320.I mainly wanted an internet device where I could surf the web and watch youtube and play music.
Then....
Last year my friends had these "droid " phones. One look at the android OS and I was hooked . I had to have one. I had to wait 6 months but I finally got the fascinate and have not looked back.

I mainly use mine for multi media. I do use some of the EMS apparently that are out there!

My friend was showing off his iPhone and I thought man that's cool but I hated iTunes and ATT so there was no way I was going to get it. Enter Droid 1 and I was all over it. The rest is history. I mainly use my phone for email, calls, text and music. GPS was just an added bonus. :D

main reason i got the fascinate was because my middle son bought a Captivate being with AT&T...
i was already with Verizon so i bought the Fascinate... its uses to me are
1.GPS Navigation
2.phone of course
3.another gadget to piddle with
4.all other usefull apps when needed
5.I thought it would be a nice tag along on a long outta town trip to kill some time..

I'm definitely a tinker-er, that was a huge reason for me getting mine, as well as the reasons above. I'm also a Computer Science major, senior project is designing an Android app that implements hardware that interacts with a PC (bluetooth, anyone?) and has a use.

My application consists of (so far) an MP3 player that's skinable, and plays your audio as well as a slideshow of your pictures on a PC. It's not the best idea/concept but building from the ground up, it isn't very easy. I've had to learn all of the Android based Java classes, aren't too many that are different from the PC to Android, but not having Swing and AWT to use makes things a bit complicated. I was just wondering what everyone else uses the phone for, this is the first real project I've had that it was almost essential. Apart from work, always find myself needing the flashlight app, check my email, communicate with my boss, etc.

It's also extremely an extremely fun, and capable device. I use it for my main source of music, sometimes video, (mostly for showing off the screen) some games, GPS, etc. It's quite the convenient gadget but I can't help but think to myself "This will be obsolete by the time I have kids and they get a phone." I'm pretty tempted to keep it and see the difference between now and the future phones.
