I don't get an option to do anything else, that is the issue I guess. I should have been more clear. The face id will do the trick if my face is available but, there are times where it's kinda just not. A password or pin option would be nice at that juncture. If the sensor fails to recognise your fingerprint three or four times usually it prompts an error message to enter your PIN/password. At this point swiping up from the bottom of the screen should open the unlock screen.
