Best way to clean the white plastic surrounding?

What's the best way to clean the white plastic on the HTC one?
The top white plastic around the power button has discoloured and gone a yellowish tint compared to the rest of the plastic, has this happened to anyone else's phone and how can it be cleaned?

I did it once using medical alcohol and a cotton earpick. Just dip the head of the earpick int alcohol and wipe.

I recall The Verge Mobile podcast mentioned using Tide Stain Remover to clean the back of a Nokia phone. It had been stained from being inside a jeans pocket.
