Best way to locate lost phone

If you had Android driver manager setup on your device, then you could locate your phone from the web. No native way though. You'd need an application to locate your phone.

Mine fell out of my pocket in a taxi. Dispatch couldnt reach the driver so I turned to Google. Showed me where it was on a map. Turned out to be the taxi service center. they said they didn't have it and the cab wasn't there. I insisted it was on the premises. They checked w the manager. Turned out A tech had found it cleaning the cab and gave it to the manager.

Did u create a Samsung account when u set up ur phone? Doesn't Samsung allow u to track your phone as well? I could be mistaken though.

Samsung has Find My Mobile. For some reason it doesn't work on my US unlocked S8 using a Straight Talk Verizon SIM card. Not sure if the problem is Straight Talk or the CDMA SIM. I am signed into my Samsung account. Android Find My Device works perfectly though. The Samsung Find My Mobile says it can't connect to a network. Won't find the phone even when I use my laptop. Wish I knew why.

I guess Verizon has disabled it for some reason. Glad to know it's not just me. Like you said though, Google works great to locate, ring, lock or erase it.

Cerberus app. It's an anti-theft app. One of its function is you can sms your phone. Cerberus will detect it and get the GPS coordinate of the phone. But you have to leave the GPS always on to get a precise coordinate or else it will base its coordinate by cell tower triangulation which is less accurate.

Another function I found useful is you can sms it and it will blast an alarm at full volume even if it's in silent mode and the screen will blink several times until you found it. Very useful if I forgot where I placed my phone.

I have kids who just about everyday lose my phones, Google.com/android/devicemanager find my phone etc I use constantly LOL
