Best way to root a VZW Galaxy Tab?

About two weeks ago I went to verizon and picked up a thunderbolt and a galaxy tab. Last week I finally mustered up the courage to root my thunderbolt using Android Central's Mac procedure instructions, which were very detailed and easy to follow. The other day I also used the same forum's instructions for flashing custom ROM's and was, of course, successful. I'm really happy with the results and lack of any major problems.

My problem now is that I want to root my galaxy tab, but I haven't really found anything close to the thunderbolt instructions in terms of how well I understand them. Mostly I'm finding things on how to root the GSM version, which I'm not comfortable doing as I don't want to cut off the 3G signal that I'm paying for.

I would greatly appreciate any links to some good instructions for rooting a CDMA galaxy tab. Also, if possible, info on what gingerbread ROM's will work on it.

Google Z4 root. It was taken out of the market but I bet you can find it somewhere.

Thanks found it on xda! Installed it, but havent tried it yet because I'm waiting to see if there are any rom's or if the vzw tab is getting GB.

I've had my tab for about 6months now and haven't found a rom that's been stable for me. There's alot of GSM roms on xda. Cdma doesn't get much love. Take a peek. There are a few available.

Best way to root is Superoneclick. That's what I used. Z4 didn't work for me on the tab.

This would definitely be a helpful video, except I don't think Samsung KIES works with the Verizon tablet... Can anyone confirm this, because I've tried several times.

Umm, of course it works.. I used it in the video lol. I mean it doesn't sync anything but it installs all the proper drivers and sets up the right communication between the tab n the computer

Alright, I'll have to try this again today. I don't suppose that using KIES for Mac has anything to do with my problem... Maybe I'll try it on my Windows/Ubuntu netbook

Whenever I connect the tab through KIES, I just get an error message stating that the device is not supported by KIES 2.0

Did you have this through your windows version? (I'm using a Mac)
