best way to share calender

Hi all
probably the wrong forum, so my apologies.
Situation is I used to have an iphone, now moved over to Samsung S7 Edge.
My wife has an iphone and we used to share my icloud calendar between the two of us.
Now that I am android I, having no end of problems, so much so that I am missing things and both of our calendars do not update.

Without having to download all these apps via the playstore which you normally have to pay for, is there a re nice simple way we can share calenders?
Do I need to migrate everything across to gmail email / calendar and get her to synch to that?

Yes. As far as I know you have to. This is mainly because Apple makes sharing its stuff to non-Apple systems deliberately hard, just to keep you in their garden. Howevee Google doesn't. So if you have your calendars on Google, it can sync both ways. Now, there is a way to have Google and Outlook share data online. It may be productive to try and see if there is a way to do so with iCloud.

Trying to share a calendar between my wife's S4 phone and my new Tab E.
I have both the S calendar and the Google calendar. They synch'ed on her S4 but nothing came over to my Tab E ...............
Supposed to be easy on an Android - any ideas?
