Best Way to Transfer Old Phone Content to OnePlus 3

I have been using a Samsung Galaxy S5 and backing up to Samsung's Smart Switch. I'm getting a OnePlus 3, which won't work with Smart Switch. Can someone help me with the best (easiest) way to transfer all photos, contacts, apps, etc. to my new phone. My Galaxy is also set up to back up to Google Sync. Will this work?

Google will back up apps. It will also backup photos if you have Google photos setup to sync and back them up. Contacts should be backed up as well if your using gmail and have a google acct.

If you have both phones at the same time you can tap to sync and it will load all your apps contacts accounts and everything on your OnePlus 3. That's what I did from my S6 Edge Plus to my OnePlus 3.

I haven't even received my OP3 yet, but have another question:

I'm using Consumer Cellular, and my sim card, of course, is in my Galaxy S5. When I use NFC to transfer everything to my OP3, will the OP3 "accept" everything from my S5 without a sim card? I'm not sure what part the sim card plays in this situation, and don't want to screw everything up!

Yes just make sure your on the same wifi network and NFC enabled on both devices and you should be fine! Good luck!

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I'm overthinking it! The last time I got a new phone, I went from a Galaxy S3 to an S5, and just used Samsung Smart Switch, which made it easy. I'll be sure to back up my old phone before I try the transfer!
