Best Wifi Performance

Under advanced settings under wifi there is a option to click best wifi performance and wanted to know what it meant. It says could you use more power but wanted to know what the benefits are to using it.

There was a thread somewhere about it but i do not recall the details other than to say, don't bother. The upside was minimal compared to the drain/heat given off.
