Bestbuy questions...

I had a couple questions:

1) I'm pretty sure best buy also comes with an activation fee...does this go on the sprint bill or through BB? If on the sprint bill, has anyone successfully fought of activation fee that went through BB?
2) If the phone is defective, can I take it to either BB or Sprint?

The reason I'm asking is not having to pay the extra 100 out the door is appealing. I put down a 50 dollar pre-order at sprint for the Evo today.

My main goal however is to not pay an activation fee, even if it involves calling CSR. If I could get that through Bestbuy then I will be in love!

Any suggestions welcome...thanks!

1) Goes on Sprint Bill

2) Best Buy before end of 30 days. After 30 days you go to Sprint.

I bought my Evo out of pocket. I just couldn't deal with the Hero anymore. My fees were waived. Chick said because I was a premier customer.

they will waive the activation fee if you are a credit union member it also gives you 10% off your bill every month.

I spoke with a sprint representative thru phone the other day, she told me that if i order online then there is no activation fee, is this true? She also told me that once i receive the phone i can then call sprint to port my old number from another carrier... anyone try this before?

yes it is free activation if you order online, and yes they will port it for you this is what i did, correct me if im wrong but you cant have your old service disconnected before you port it still has to be active

This is correct. If you terminate your service with your old carrier you will lose the number. Once Sprint ports your number your old account will be terminated with your previous carrier. One way to terminate your old account before opening your Sprint account is to port your number to a prepaid phone and then to Sprint.
