Better battery life after March update?

I didn't suffer from a TERRIBLE battery drain after February update, but I definitely had some battery drain.
Felt like I lost about 15% each day overall, compared to before February update.
It was also draining faster while in use.

After two days I can say that for me, March totally fixed whatever February messed up.

That's it! I'm sticking with March! 😄

How about y'all?

I bought my Pixel 2 after the battery drain reports started coming in, and I've not really had any issues with it. March is about the same as the day I bought it.

I'm a heavy user and I've not noticed any battery life change with any update so far. I've always been able to get more than a full day with 3 to 4 hours of Screen On Time.

I can't truly tell since I am super hard on my phones while at work (screen on, tons of LTE streaming, etc.) so I can't say work day-to-day battery lief .. but normal phone usage at night / overnight seems to be the same.

I just got my xl a few days ago and my battery life has been fantastic. mix of social media/YouTube/games and I typically have around 3 hours screen on time with 50% battery or more. right now I'm at 66% with 3 hours SOT

I forgot to charge my phone since yesterday afternoon and have 48% left, says based on my usage I have about 23 hours left.

I don't mess with it like 4 months ago so battery time is increasing naturally.

Battery life on this phone is good. I don't get surprised with a "phone is dying" at 9PM anymore.

Battery seems a tad better. The phone, in my opinion, had gotten a whole lot snappier overall since the March update...

Also the fingerprint unlock speed. Not something major but a bit faster.

Edit: and also the swipe gesture to answer calls thank God.

I do think they put in some tweaks to the screen... You have to remember that it's always a delicate balance. They want the screen to be responsive, but not so much that it gets a mind of its own.

I think it's too early for me to tell if the performance derps are addressed. After a few days of run time, things would get sluggish at times, where before Feb i could go a couple of weeks without realizing that I hadn't rebooted the phone.

My first day yesterday with the Pixel 2XL.
I had the Pixel 2 prior to that.
I got 5 hr 15 min SOT with 25% left when I put it on the charger.
I got close but never cracked 5 hr with my little Pixel.
Definitely happy with the battery life on the bigger guy.

So far if the battery has improved, it has just been by a tad for me.
I use 2 different phones between day time and night time. :)

One being the Pixel 2 XL in the day time , the other the 2016 Pixel sailfish at night time
But I have been doing that all along, battery has always been great for me with about same results.

I'm very curious as to why you change to the older Pixel at night?

I just prefer the smaller one at the gym ,which I go to at night. Also it fits better in sweatpants pockets without failing out.
I have two lines so it's not like I'm switching out Sim card.
Other then that not a big deal reason as to why.The 2016 is still a pretty good phone.
Still enjoy using it to.
Also since it's not my main phone when Android P gets to Beta will use that phone to try out the beta with.

That certainly makes good sense! Thanks!
