Better battery life on 4G

Hello. For some reason, I get better stand by and use times with 4G enabled compared to 3G.

In my house, the 4G signal is worser (-110dBm) compared to 3G (-97 dBm) so I don't think it is to do with the signal.

It seems very strange.

Anyone else get better battery life with 4g on?

When you're on 3G, is that with the 4G turned off? If the preference is still set to 3G/4G (as opposed to 3G only), then it could be expending more energy, because even though it's connected to 3G, it's still searching for a 4G signal.
