I have Handcent as my Messaging program and it is listed with the Primary Shortcuts at the bottom of the screen. When I try to change the name "Handcent SMS" using Better Cut, it won't change it in the Primary Shortcuts. Am I missing something, or can Primary Shortcut names not be changed?

Thank you.

The shortcut in the dock bar, is seen as it appears in the app drawer, which the app name cannot be changed.

You can move the shortcut to a Home screen, and change name and app icon.....

Thanks for your help. I moved the Primary Shortcut for Handcent SMS to a Home screen and then went into Better Cut to change the name of Handcent SMS, but when I went back to the grid view of Apps to move it back to the Primary Shortcuts, it still said "Handcent SMS" and not the new name. What am I not following? Thanks again.

Or are you saying the name can't be changed as long as it is in the Primary Shortcuts, but it *can* be changed if it is on the Home Screen?
Thanks.

That is exactly what I am saying. The app drawer will see the app name as it is in the code by the developer. The app in the dock bar at bottom of your Touch Wiz screen will see the app name as it appears in the app drawer. This cannot be changed.

If you want to change the app name and app icon, move the shortcut to one of the Home screens, and change it. The shortcut will have to remain on the Home screen. Moving the renamed shortcut back to the dock bar, will change the name back to what is in app code. As I said, the app shortcut in the dock bar is seen as it appears in the app drawer, which reads the app name from the app code...

Got it. Thanks so much.
