Better dialer/ call blocker?

Anyone have a favorite dialer with call blocking capability? When I long-press a phone number, I do not get the Block Number option.

Many, many apps in the Play store that work. Before call blocking got built into Android, I used to use BlackList. (It's not only a great call blocker, but you can use it to block "numbers starting with", so all 800, 855, 866, etc., calls.)

Remember, though - the call doesn't get blocked until after the first ring. The blocking is done from the callerID, and that's not sent (in the telephone system, cell or landline) until between the first and second rings. (Don't ask me why - I would have designed the system differently, sending the callerID first, but I never worked on that part of it.)

I might try that app. So far, I've tried around a half dozen apps that are supposed to block "numbers beginning with" but none of them do a thing. I still get calls that match the blocked prefix that ring away until I either decline the call, or VM picks up (I've been selected for a free vacation, hurray!).

95% of all garbage/scam calls come from numbers that spoof the first 6 digits of my own, so they're incredibly easy to spot. I just wish I could effectively block them.
