Better to order online or go into store?

I assume that it would be the same price regardless, however, I want to avoid getting a phone sold to me that someone has already used and returned.

So would I be better off just going into the store and picking one up?

I think you can get online discounts. As far as the device goes, it would be new either way.

They would be new either way... I like going into a store... sometimes the reps like to set things up before giving it to you... I said no, and was able to set everything up the way I wanted to.

Sometimes the web does offer a discount because there is no rep helping to set up your device... you do have to know how to put in the SIM card, but other than that it is very easy to setup an Android device.

Because I'm into instant gratification, I'd chose the store every time, but you'll get a new device either way.

Its the same price either way. Might as well go to a store so you can see the different accessories and ask any questions about your account. You can also ask them if there is any way to lower your bill because you may be on an unnecessary plan.

On the phone I got 100 off and lots of great deals on accessories. I always order on the phone now. I avoid the stores like the plague sadly because the reps suck (at my locations)! Online is fine.

I like ordering online. I always find it cheaper at the site for some reason. Plus I don't have reps pushing me to buy crap I don't need.

I've done both and I've even bought from Best Buy. I'm not buying from Best Buy ever again, but online and Verizon stores have both been pleasant for me.

I ordered my Storm online, but I got my Thunderbolt in the store because I just couldn't wait to get rid of my Storm.

I usually like to order online myself.

If you have a store near you, I'd suggest at least checking online to see what your upgrade price would be before you go in. For many, the online price is cheaper, for some, it is not...at least based on what I've read on here.

Since our local store will not let me buy a device at full retail, I always order online.

Is this policy at all Verizon stores?

Unless its cheaper online get it in a store, its easier to swap out/return if needed.

Verizon corporate stores will NOT honor online pricing discounts or promotions. You'd think they work The price I was offered online for a Thunderbolt on a 1yr contract was $229. All 3 corporate stores I went too thought I was NUTS that I even suggested that I'd get this price. 2 of the reps told me that it was an error and the order wouldn't even go through online, and 2 of the reps said Verizon doesn't offer 1yr contracts on the Bolt (this was a month ago). They told me to pay $320 or no dice. Well, I ordered online through MyVerizon and got my deal. Love getting a brand new phone that nobody from Verizon has touched yet.

No it's not, I got mine for $99 and the store wanted to charge me $149 for the phone. I even showed them on one of their Ipads my account online and the price it was showing which was $50 less than their price. I walked out the store and bought the phone online, with free shipping I had it in 2 days.

So true, so true

heres a question, say your using the upgrade from another family members contract(Family plan) that is coming up, and online so your going through the order process on his number. Does the sim card they send you come pre activated to that number or how does this work. I have yet to have time to go into the store (prolly wont make it until next week) and ask. Ive been searching around for an answer and well nothing so far. So any info on this is much appreciated.

I prefer store. Like walking in and getting what I want right then and there. No waiting and constantly checking the shipping tracking ;)
