Guys:

Over at XDA some knucklehead suggested a switch to the 800Mhz radio band. Like an even bigger knucklehead, I tried it. DON'T DO IT. Under any circumstances....once you switch, even if you switch back to 1900Mhz, your phone will no longer roam unless you do a hard reset. I just spent 3 hours getting my phone back to normal and lost a lot of data. #Fail

despise the fact that you can't use roaming after, what good comes out of switching the radio bands?

The idea is that by switching to 800Mhz, you'll be able to make friends with any NV towers that just happen to be using the old iDen band. Which, to my knowledge, is limited to a few in Chicago and that's it for now. I'm just pissed I was dumb enough to make the switch, not realizing that the hardware won't switch back and forth (ie automatic mode) after doing so.
