I've been happily puttering away with my Galaxy Note now for a couple of weeks. For me, this device was the answer I was looking for, as I was able to go from a tablet and a phone down to just one device. I hate lugging around more stuff than I can fit in my pockets, anyway. I love to travel light.

So I picked up the Note when it came out. Overall, I'm thrilled with it. Good performance, great battery life.. and the screen size is perfect. Emailing, texting, surfing; they're all a joy on this 'phablet'.

So last night, my wife comes in with her iPhone and asks me to help her get connected to our new wireless network. This was the first time I'd held a standard sized phone in a couple of weeks, and as I started to work on it, I noticed how strikingly... TINY... it was!

Seriously, it was downright amusing how small it felt. I've had lots of neat phones in the past; iPhones, Motorola Droids, just about one of every brand has passed through my pocket at one time or another. They never felt small before, but now, this iPhone seemed almost as if it had physically shrunk in size... tiny keys on the keyboard, all jammed in close together. It felt positively... Lilliputian. By all the Gods, how did I ever work on one of these things, I thought? My thumbs looked like giant zucchinis as I tried to tap in the key to our wireless network.

I was sitting at my workbench, and my wife laughed out loud when I switched on the light on my huge magnifying lamp and started looking through it while I worked. "Oh come on," she said. "It's not THAT bad. You're just spoiled by that monster sized phone you're carrying around with you now."

And she was right... I suddenly realized that the Note has spoiled me rotten in regards to screen size.

So watch out, my friends. Your Note is quietly reprogramming your eyes and brain so that you can't ever work comfortably with anything smaller ever again... ;)

Just had to share... have a great day, all!

lol....you are so right. I dont even want to touch my wife's nasty iphone anymore

I recently went from a Samsung Fascinate 3G, 4" screen to a Samsung Droid Charge, 4G LTE, 4.3" screen, and did not think it would matter all that much. Boy was I wrong!

So I have been avoiding reading too much about the Note, bc I love Samsung devices, love what I've seen and read about the Note, and I now know the bigger size will be simply awesome. If Verizon gets this, I will have a hard time not picking one up when my upgrade time comes around in the fall.

I could imagine that the size would be amazing to experience. I used to think that my old Evo 4G was huge. But compared to this monster it would be considered small. Once you adjust to the size, I would imagine that it would be difficult to handle anything smaller.

Yes, it is. When I got the Atrix last year, I cautiously started using swype, skeptical that I could learn to do it well. But I got pretty good at it on the Atrix. With the Note, swype is a breeze. I switched the Atrix over to my other phone line that I use as a backup. I had to pick it up to send a few texts a day or so ago and I'm back to feeling like a new swype user on that phone. All of sudden, my fingers feel all clammy and large when trying to text with swype there. I think a 4 inch or smaller phone is great as a backup line or as a device to be carried on runs, bike rides etc., but I don't think I'll ever want another sub 5 inch phone for my main device.

I have both the skyrocket and the note but i initially had the iphone 4s before i got the note. So my primary phone is my skyrocket and i use the note more for internet and other apps. I thought the skyrocket was big but it fells small now compared to the note. The note is huge but perfect for what i need it to do, the screen is bright and huge and works like a small tablet. i am super satisfied with all it has to offer!

I agree with the OP 110%. My cuz dropped Sprint for the at&t GNote over the weekend. He stepped by on Sunday, and allowed me to play with it for about 30 min. Damn, after he left my Evo 4G knew I no longer wanted him lol. The size of the GNote's screen is just amazing for a cell phone junkie like me.

I hope Sprint gets it. They have until June of this year, or hello at&t.

literally just had the same thing happen to myself. i went from the galaxy s2 on at&t to the galaxy note just about 10 days ago and i just picked up my girlfriends' galaxy s2 and thought it shrunk. the s2 is about the thinnest and lightest android phone i know but it felt like a small toy when i picked it up. over the last few days i kinda forgot how big the note is. its 2oz heavier and almost an inch taller with an inch more screen.

From time to time, I have a debate with a coworker about the iPhone being too small. Since he has only ever had iPhones, he feels like the size is perfect. I went from a Storm to a Fascinate, to a Thunderbolt, and finally to a Galaxy Nexus, so now my 4.65" feels like the perfect size. He is adamant that anything larger than 3.5" is way too big. I tend to get the same feeling when I consider the Note, but I know it will be the same adjustment and then I would swear by it. It's all about getting used to the size of what you're currently using.

I felt the same way when I had the Dell Streak..
I still remember grabbing my boys HTC Incredible to set up his email and I could've swore it was an HTC Aria it was so tiny hahaha

Had the note since Saturday. It replaced my 5th Atrix 2. Thankful At&T for the comp upgrade without extending my contract. I absolutely love it. It is the perfect phone. I don't think l
I'll ever go back to a smaller phone. Samsung has a real winner here. Now if they keep it updated I'll gladly go past the ed of my contract to keep using it. I never thought something so big in my had would feel so right. If you haven't checked it out go see it. You will fall in love. To thinkIng was ready to give up on android and switch to an iphone. Now I say never!

There's nothing to beat the Galaxy Note a the the moment. Apart from the Galaxy SIII, the HTC One X might have been a rival but the on-board codecs, memory card slot and removeable 2500 mAh battery put the One X to shame when compared wit the Galaxy Note.

i was considering returning my note a few days ago because the snapdragon kinda discourages me after using the galaxy s2 since it launched on at&t. Can't imagine going back to something else tho. Big screen, awesome samsung camera, and because the battery is huge it has some of the best battery life i've had on an android phone.

its so true it makes my nexus look tiny. Not only that its just a great feeling. Everyday people ask to play with it. Samsung is doing an amazing job. Im never getting an iphone again, ipad is another story

I agree 100% about the iPhone being too small. Granted, the 5.3" screen isn't for everyone, but it has a much better appeal to me personally when compared to the postage stamp iPhone.

My call on the next iPhone? I bet it's at least 4", if not 4.3".

What's funny about all of his this Steve Jobs said no consumer would buy a 4.3" phone. Really Steve? Nice call on that one.
