Beware... the Note will spoil you rotten!

I feel the same way about the Galaxy Note. It is truly an amazing device. I recently switched from the Infuse and although that too was a phone I could barely put down, the Note has redefined the smartphone for me. Not many people have noticed me carrying around the Note yet. It will be interesting to see what conversations come up because of it.

Yeah it realy a big difference. I switched from the iPhone to the Galaxy Note and the gain in screen size just amazed me. The thought of going back to a smaller device just cant fit in my head. I hope there will still be Phones with that size in 2-3 Years. Otherwise I am going to use the Note until they put screens in my eyes. :)

I am Droid believer & user. Graduated from Galaxy S to Tab to Note . BUT disagree violently with your statement that "Overall, I'm thrilled with it. .. great battery life.." Terribly disappointed with battery life on Note despite its much advertised 2500mAh rating.
Even when I am using no active applications just on stand by mode the juice runs out in few hours . I cannot make it last more than 4 hours of active use with say 3 applications .
I am doing everything right e.g. Wifi, GPS, etc all off , still very poor life
Would like to know if I have any hope fo seeing a better battery life via some software upgrades or am I stuck with having to recharge twice /day and carry a battery back up.
Otherwise I love the Note
Of yes compared to say on a Blackberry, mails /attachments on Note /Tab take forever to download
Why is that ?

I'm working with my first android phone(Vivid), but i'd rather be able to change out the battery, add a micro sd card, and enjoy an amoled screen. Compared to my previous phone(iPhone4), a 4.5 inch screen is huge, so i don't know about a 4.7 inch. Sorry, but the Note doesn't spoil me at all!:p

I think you actually have to use the Note to be able to know if it will spoil you. The HTC Vivid does not compare at all, in my opinion, to the Note. Your disappointment is not with the Note.

I'm not sure what is wrong with your device, but if you're only getting a few hours from a full charge then you clearly have a defective phone. I don't of anyone who is experiencing batter problems with their Note as you described.

Please take your phone back to At&t and have them replace your unit or your battery.

I gree 100% with the OP. I switched from Sprint to At&t just for this phone alone. My monthly bill went up considerably, but this phone is worth its weight.

I sold my Epic Touch GS2, and my Tab 7.0 Plus and now just carry this one device. It is so amazing to have one device to read books, email, calendar, games, take pictures/videos, and not enough can be said about the brilliant screen. Sammie hit a home run with this device.

IMO the only feature this device is missing is multitasking. Once it's upgraded to ICS that will no longer be an issue. The G-Note will be nearly the perfect all-in-one phone/tablet.

Battery life for my Note has been great too. With the Infuse I would get 10-12 hours on the standard battery. With the Note I get a minimum of 16 hours and more closely around 20 hours. It is still new but I am happy with this battery performance.

I work in IT and managing phones falls into my scope. Im a big android fan but I push for Iphones at work. Sorry but they are easier to use and support. My current phone is the Epic 4G Touch. Now when I have to setup/troubleshoot an Iphone , I have the same issues. When I'm working in front of the user, I always complain how small everything is and then I let them play with my phone while I'm working on their Iphone.. Everyone laughs at first but after a few minutes they all comment on how they like display and the size.

I just checked with ups and my GNote is out for delivery. I'm thinking of posting a picture in my office of all my phones over the past few years. Kind of like the human evolution postera.

Cruised into an att store today to check this thing out.
I have a gn now, but dang I could get used to the note real easy. The screen size and quality is amazing.
It's not out of the question huge and the extra real estate is easy on my old fart eyes.
Advantages my gn has is 4g, ics and super developer support as I am a crackflasher.
If this thing ever gets on vz 4g and gets more dev support, I would switch rather quick.

I'm a jealous Sprint Evo owner hoping we get the Note! :-\

If Sprint EVER gets this phone, I'm all over it. My 1st super phone was the Evo, Evo 3D, Moto Photon & now Sg2 Epic Touch.
People keep saying these phones are too big or they can't imagine using a phone bigger than the iPhone. For me, I can't imagine using a phone as small as the iPhone. IMO, it was made for folks with 20/20 vision.

So far the jury is still out if Sprint will get it. Been with them for 12 yrs & this is the 1st time I've ever considered leaving for a particular phone.

I was in your exact same situation. I had never dreamed of leaving Sprint after being with them for over 10 years. But in September 2011 Samsung announces the Galaxy Note, and after watching the keynote, I just had to have this phone.

I was hoping, praying, wishing, it would land on Sprin, but unfortunately it landed on At&t. After much soul searching and waffling back and forth I took the plunge and purchased the phone with an At&t data plan.

My thinking was I would keep it for 30 days and wait and see if Sprint would announce their plans to pick up the device during MWC, but sadly no announcement ever came. I have 10 days to return this device to At&t, but now I can't. Like the OP has indicated, I am too spoiled by this phone that I just can't go back to a smaller screen and carrying two devices.

The Galaxy Note is the ONLY phone that would cause me to leave Sprint, and sure enough I have.

You guys are making me anxious! I'm getting my Note tomorrow or Saturday. Probably tomorrow.....

Gonna be going from a Captivate to this. Cannot wait!

In my case, I've got 3 lines each with upgrades that are within 6 mo. of each other. My son also has 3 lines set up like mine so for us, getting that next great thing is always an option. This is what prevents me from making a rash decision to go to another carrier despite how tempting the thought is.

For this reason I've got to continue crossing fingers & toes for a Sprint Note. The last time I was in the store I inquired about it. This particular store treats me very well & has never blown smoke up my butt. So when I asked if Sprint was getting it, I was told yes but no one had a date. We shall see!

How long after At&T introduced the iPhone did Sprint get an iPhone? It seemed like AT&T kept the exclusive US rights for a long time.

I would be willing to bet Sprint and Verizon get their versions of the Note. Maybe not until later in the year, but it seems this awesome device (I refuse to call it a phablet!) would be an option both carriers would love to have. Perhaps they will both offer it with ICS!!!
