If you have fingerprint/iris/face recognition setup, if you try changing your lock screen to swipe only, does it give you the option to keep your biometric data, or is the only option to delete it? You don't have to follow through with it, just wondering if the option is meant to come up as it did previously on the s8 and note8.

The problem is, I only use swipe, but I like to use biometric for secure folder. However, on the s9, you can't use any biometrics for anything (I used it for a couple apps as well previously) unless you secure your lock screen as well.

You can do it, but it says your biometric data will be removed. If you'd like to use biometric data for other app logins you will have to re-register afterwards.

Biometrics is, as a rule, either on or off. That means for the lock screen, for secure apps, etc. If you turn biometrics off, you delete your fingerprint/iris/face data. It's all things that use it or none of them. (Maybe by Android 11 or 12 we'll be able to choose.)
