Hello everyone,

I have two Samsung Galaxy S9 FE tablets for my kids, both on the latest version of Android, and both have the lock screen security type set to Swipe. When I close the case for my tablet it shuts the screen off as it should, but then when I open the case one of the tablets competely bypasses the lock screen and goes straight to the home screen. The other tablet acts as it should, showing the lock screen and awaiting a swipe to unlock. For both tablets I can manually go to the lock screen if I press the power button on the side.

Secure Lock / Smart Lock is off on both tablets.

Is there a setting somewhere which is over writing the lock screen on one of my tablets? I have them side by side and both seem to have the same settings.

Thanks for your help.

I do not have this option. See photo.

Another interesting observation: when I let the screen time out without using the case cover (2 mins), upon waking the screen it will be at the lock screen. So it seems that time-out will trigger the lock screen, but forcing the screen off with the case cover bypasses the lock screen.

After the screen times out and the tablet is locked, if I close the case cover then open it, it will unlock the tablet to the home screen. So it seems to be the case doing it?
Found it!!!

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Lock Screen>Secure Lock Settings>Auto Lock When Screen Turns Off. What is that set to?

Is that observation you mentioned happening on both tablets, or only one of them? If it's for both, then it sounds like that's how the smartcover feature is designed.

EDIT: Oh, glad you found it! I think the "Accessory" in question is the smartcover.
