I was in a similar situation, I just don't own the lapdock. I contacted them via live chat. The support person's response was that the cable is an "online only" special from Motorola and I would have to purchase it separately along with the car charger. Car charger was $30 and the cable was $20. I told him that was unacceptable and the guy closed the chat on me. I was pretty upset, but kept my cool and forwarded the chat (the rep was fairly rude about the whole thing before he left) along with how disappointed I had been with Moto customer service (which at that point had been fairly poor). I also said how I am a huge supporter of Moto products, I buy the phones and a large portion of the accessories. Then I told them it was unacceptable to be asking $50 for a cable that is defined in the setup in the manual and nowhere does it say "sold seperately." Especially after paying $40 for a dock which, without the cable, amounts to a hunk of plastic. I expected to pay something, but $50 is way too much. After a few days I got a call from Moto asking for my address so they could send the accessories out at no charge.probably not on the site as they do not want to encourage selling individual parts of car dock package. get someone on the phone, that's what i plan on doing andif i don't get what i want.
ffs i own the HD dock, Verizon gimped car dock (didn't realize at the time..), and the bionic lapdock. im hoping for minimal nonsense lol
I am interested in this as well, it would be good news to hear that you can send out audio over the micro USB port, providing a great way to circumvent the noise in the onboard 3.5 mm headphone jack.
