Bionic Extended Battery Question

I believe that you need an entirely new battery door for contact charging

the phone requires a whole new back cover and that cover only fits stock battery. you allso need a charging mat.Wireless Charging Battery Cover for DROID Bionic - Overview - Motorola Mobility, Inc. USA

I hate to speculate, but am I correct in understanding that the standard battery / door is compatible with contact chargers while the extended battery is not? (Meaning the extended battery may only be charged with the microUSB connection.)
