Bionic Release Date Just in Time for Verizon Tiered Data Plans?

I have talked with several National Sales reps, including one that is a family friend, and they have confirmed that the $30 unlimited data plan for 3G/4G will be grandfathered for those with unlimited plans now. There has been no talk amongst any of the people I have spoken to that would indicate that this will change in the forseeable future.

Good luck with that - You may want to check out the thread below. The only plan that may be grandfathered is a LTE Plan. The only way you have a Unlimited LTE plan today is if you activated a LTE phone on the Verizon network - it's that simple. When you do such an activation your account is converted/provisioned as a LTE Account and at this time Unlimited. If Verizon does not implement tiered plans this summer then you will be good to go. If they do and you have not activated your LTE phone of choice before the change goes into effect you missed the boat.

I had the original Droid, loved it...got the DX, loved it even more, now I want my Bionic

I am also curious about what Motorola has planned for early 2012. nVidia already has a quad core they are releasing in tablets this summer, and they have stated it will be in phones by early 2012.

A quad-core droid would be amazing!

IMO the only thing amazing about a quad would be telling folks 'Hey I have a Quad..." because w/out software that is optimized to take advantage of the 4 cores I don't see anything too exciting. Same problem we are going to have when the Bionic is released... we may not see code that can take advantage of even dual cores for some time.

They might keep the unlimited maybe for the first 2 weeks then go to a tiered data plan.

I don't think they will implement tiered LTE plans until the LTE coverage is more widely expanded.
