Bionic specs?

Snyder what's wrong with the specs? I don't understand where all the doubt is coming in. I'm trying to understand why the specs are doubtful. Is it because the model number? And if so what are you looking at the Bionic coming with? Bigger screen? More ram?

Nothing glaring on this page outside of the model number being different. I still just wonder if this page is complete and not a rough of any sort.

We'll have to wait to see as more spec releases pass to tell though.

D3 has a H.246 and WMA 10 decoder and Bionic does not? D3 has 2x more zoom and Bionic is 3266x2450 with 8mp? Photon can print to blue tooth printers and Bionic can't?

Many questions and inconsistencies make me think these "specs" were not finalized and were let out on accident (or purpose? sneak peak? =) and were quickly removed to make for revisions of the final specs. I hope anyways, i'm not taking anything official untill moto e-mails me or i see it in stores.

Couldn't agree more- definitely a calculated move - they are holding their ace card(s) just a bit longer, that said i'm convinced September 1 release will happen.

What was there a GS2 pictured and not something bionic shaped. Helll maybe bionic has a touchpad

I don't remember where I read what I'm about to say, but with the GB of RAM- I read somewhere that half of that was dedicated to the webtop dock accessory. I dk where I read it but I was just wondering if any of that would be true. Personally, I will def not be purchasing the web/laptop dock for it and I was just wanting to know if the phone alone would be able to access the full GB of RAM. Again, I have no idea if what I'm saying has any validity. But if someone with a bit more knowledge about it could let me know I'd appreciate it greatly!

Yup. Straight from Motorola

Ooooooo, 4 gb's of app storage, nice

Can someone smart explain to me what this means? I realize this info may be incorrect (based on the wrong part number), but what is the difference between stand alone GPS and whatever the specs say the Bionic has?

I'm making an educated guess here due to the GPS units we use in fleet tracking devices. Our GPS units have SIM cards along with the GPS components in a device smaller than a matchbox.

In short, they use satellites and cellular towers. Ours use GSM but I'm sure the same thing can be done with CDMA.

If the assisted is anything like our units it is MUCH better than stand alone. The GSM part of it along with the GPS device allows us to stick the units under the center of a vehicle pointing at the road and still be within feet in accuracy.

If the unit looses connection in one phase it tracks in the other. I have never seen one fail to track anywhere in the US.

GPS & Cellular signals do bounce the road some too.

I used to think the Atrix was 512 MB Phone and 512MB web top. I was wrong.. It was a rumor that is not true!!!
A developer at XDA broke it down:This will be the same on the Bionic

I read that the Webtop Dock uses about 200 MB and the Atrix has 818MB Ram for Apps, with stock apps ( included bloatwares ) also what was said is that you get the full use of the 1G on the phone when it is not docked.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1058632 The webtop mode is actually linux (albeit Limited) itself which launches once u place the atrix in the dock or use the webtop hack. it allows u to have an open window of your phone on your screen. it doesn't just mirror what is already there.

bit more info on how it looks here

It doesn't make sense that the droid 3 and bionic would have different screen sizes, same resolution yet different dpi!!!

Also why did they remove it from the MotoDev site. I am going out on the limb to say that some of the specs were accurate but not fully.

Webtop does NOT take 200 Mb of RAM. On the Atrix there is 1 GB of RAM, 818 MB is available for applications to use and 206 MB of it is reserved for "System Processes" which may include WebTop. To compare, the SGS 2 has 1 GB of RAM with 848 MB available for applications and 176 Mb reserved for "System Processes"

Q: The atrix has 1GB of ram. Is all of that memory used on the phone or is it like what was rumored and some of it is reserved for the webtop? (submitted by RacecarBMW)

A: The webtop shares memory with the phone side. There is about 800mb free for use by both, with roughly 200mb reserved for system processes.

Take it with a grain of salt? Hopefully they'll put it back up and we'll see maybe one or two small changes. Like the model number lol. I don't think it was ready, and I think Motorola is screwing with us now:p

So can the Ram use and webtop debate, rumors be considered officially confirmed now? lol

Its funny with the Atrix out all these months its even still a debate, unknown. I wonder do ppl even know about the bootloader progress with the Atrix...

Thank you Preach and rkeller for clearing that up.
