Bixby voice finally here!

They are way stricter here.

They set up a trap where they put cops in plain clothes and plain cars. They drove up and down one of our busy roads looking for people to ticket. Nobody knew they were cops so they didn't hide their phones. The plain clothed cops then called ahead and told the cops in marked cars which people to pull over. That happened about a month ago and the city made a killing. Their nuts about phones in my area.

Well with the state that detroit is in financially, makes sense. Also I live in PA and they do not enforce the no windshield phone mounts.

Its a mess here. Its a couple cities primarily leading the charge. One of which is heading up the stricter rules and higher fines. Technically they arent illegal yet but they are using it as an excuse to ticket for distracted driving.

I personally dont mind the fines because Ive had enough with people playing on their phones while driving. Last June I was rear ended while stopped at a light by a F-150 doing 40mph. Then in September my daughter was hit head on while stopped in the left turn lane by a lady doing 30mph. Both instances were due to phones. Since we are a no fault state my insurance more than tripled. When I tried to switch companies I got rate quotes as high as $2100/month. All thanks to cell phone usage by idiots.

I dont like the way they are manipulating the law but I dont feel a bit bad for anyone ticketed.

As I pointed out elsewhere, Bixby reminds me of the Apple maps fiasco. Hope nobody dies in the Australian outback as a result.

This comment is not aimed at techies who enjoy new toys. But for the rest of us Bixby is an unnecessary beta button and a waste of resources and money.

RIP Bixby.

Glad I don't live there. No way your insurance should go up for someone else being in the wrong.

Oh wow! That's illegal here... It's called entrapment... A cop can't legally pull u over here if they weren't in sight

Well technically the cop was in sight, he was right next to you but you didnt know he was a cop lol.

Not quite, here in Ohio the ticketing officer would have to have been the one to see you. Plain clothed officers and unmarked cars can not pull you over and can not issue traffic citations.

Can they offer video testimony to support the actions of the issuing officer?

You guys have some of the craziest laws with cops. They don't even have to use radar guns to issue you a ticket. Their "trained eye" is enough and didn't they pass the law last year that they don't even need to stop you to issue a ticket? I'm good on Ohio, the cops there are ridiculous.

The unmarked thing is correct and the same in most states which is why they have a marked officer stop you. I'm pretty sure the same applies in Ohio and it doesn't need to be the cop who caught you issuing the ticket.

If that were the case you could run from the cops and as long as the one who saw you wasn't the one who made the stop, you could say nope not goin to jail tonight, you didnt see me run, your buddy did.

Let's get back to Bixby talk. This is turning into a law / police talk.

I am having issues with Bixby lanching when I get a phone call and blocking me from answering it. it's only happened a few times but kinda frustrating.

Ugg, first day after updating, in my noisy work inviroment bixby kept asking " I didn't catch that?" but I didn't say anything. Just now as I type this, bixby vision pops up "press here to continue" To many bugs at the moment, about to hit this disable button.

Push number 2 for Bixby :X.

I asked Bixby for directions to the nearest Costco. Don't know where I am presently but there are people with machine guns speaking a foreign language and I just saw a Russian jet blow up a house.
